About me

Born and raised in Bern, Switzerland, my skills for sports became evident from an early age. I was interested in all sorts of movement, from letting loose in PE to getting a green belt in judo. In 2010 I began playing rugby. It was a decision that set the course for my future. I was strong and agile and a fast learner. Through that I’ve managed to shine on the pitch from the very beginning. It didn’t take long until I became a member of the U16 and then the U18 XV national team. In 2017 I began my apprenticeship to become a joiner (federal VET diploma) at the partner school of Swiss Olympics: Technical College Bern.

Weekly plan

Combining competitive sport and vocational training requires a great deal of discipline, perseverance and adaptability. The biggest challenge is to find a balance between physical and mental peak performance in training and maximum concentration during my apprenticeship.

The Technical College Bern enables me to plan my week in such a way that there is, in addition to my education, enough time for training and recovery phases. This has to be perfectly planned:

Annual expenses

Being a rugby player also brings its financial hurdles. Despite being a national league player I pay all expenses myself. Beginning with the travel costs to the training ground, to travel expenses to external tournaments, up to the gym subscription. That’s quite a lot:

GA Travelcard SBB AG 2‘650.00
Travel expenses for league games, bus 680.00
Expenses for sports equipment 750.00
International tournaments (Germany, Russia, Japan, etc.) 3’000.00
Miscellaneous expenses (Food, tapes, supplements, etc.) 1’600.00
Physiotherapy 1’425.00
Gym subscription 1’200.00
Reserves 1’000.00
Total per year 12’305.00
Monthly average 1’025.40

My goal: professional rugby player

The first step is done: since this year I am a member of the LNA (the highest XV league in Switzerland) as well as the XV national team. However, I don't want to rest on my laurels, but instead want to constantly improve myself, play at an even higher level and accept challenging match duels. In this way I hope to be able to raise my level, expand my skills and gain a lot of experience in order to advance my international career.

Support

I depend on you for the continuation of my sporting career. The support of sponsors helps me to achieve my sporting goals and I am happy with any financial support I receive. Your contribution enables me to cover the annually recurring costs.

I would therefore be very grateful if you would support me with a contribution!
